My cousin Dylan is getting married today. We have to be at the church in about an hour and a half and my daughter is in the shower, anticipating putting on her new dress and heels. She got a gorgeous new dress while in Massachusetts, pictures to follow tomorrow.
I still remember my cousin Dylan as the little boy he was. When I was 18 I went to live with Colleen, Josh & Dylan. The boys were still young, I think Dylan was around 6 maybe? I lived with them for about a year and did get pretty close to both boys. I remember reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe stories together and I remember all of us sitting on Colleen's bed while she read us The Trumpeter and The Swam or perhaps it was Stuart Little?
Years later, I was living in Roanoke and I would bump into Dylan quite often. He seemed to spend a lot of time at the mall. I would see him and we would hug quickly, say hello and go our separate ways. I was always amazed that this person was Dylan. Long hair and a long goatee - he seemed so "cool" and he probably was.
When my aunt, Colleen, approached me with Dylan's engagement pictures, when they were trying to pick out which to use, I was floored.
Time sure flies and now it's time to go have fun, at his wedding!
