Nana
Nana – by Chrissie

Mother of nine and nine had nineteen
James thru Trish with seven between

Allowed to Live and Learn and Love
Creating more, because of ….

Delicious dinner, Sundays,
Homemade soups and stews
Just enough for everyone…
Then sit and chat with you

Working in your garden
Planting seeds… pulling weeds
Passerby’s longingly stare,
Grown, Created, such loving care

Gift bags, presents for all your young
You’ve never missed a day
Knowing they were packed with love...
Nana’s gracious, giving way

Your house, it has such spirit
Strawberries, trinkets from the sea
Pictures galore of all of us
Your home….a loving potpourri

About Face (no I'm kidding this is really titled...) About Me
• My name is Chrissie (pronounced Chris Sea – hence the name of this blog)
• I live next to the sea
• Chrissie is short for Christine and my middle name is Marie
• I am 37
• I am very Irish
• I am a single Mom
• I work in administration
• I love to laugh
• I will try anything once
• I currently live somewhere in Marshfield, MA with my 12 year old daughter (I do know exactly where in Marshfield - but I'm not telling - I don't like unexpected guests because I don't vacuum everyday)
• I have a large family
• My Mom is one of nine
• Those nine then created nineteen and now we are having babies.
• I am the oldest for four girls
• I grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts
• I was born at a Marine Boot camp (Paris Island) in South Carolina
• I most recently spent 10 years living on top of one of the many Blue Ridge Mountain and also in the Roanoke area. I loved it – it was Totally Cool – but family is here
• I love to do most anything but am also content on the couch with my cross-stitch
• I love most all outdoor activities – I love indoor activities too - I guess I just like activities
• I love to throw a football or a Frisbee just for the fun of it
• If I’m forced to watch sports on TV it would be football
• 2nd choice would be a Red Sox game
• I’ve been to Red Sox games but never a pro-football game. Being there is much better than watching on TV
• When I was a wee girl I was into Gymnastics & Dance
• I was also one of the first and only girls on the little league team
• I also played soft-ball and basket-ball until high school; once high school started I was way too cool. Not that I was very good anyway
• I don’t go to a gym (although I probably should)
• I am addicted to reality TV and Crime documentaries
• I rearrange M&M’s/Skittles into colors and eat my least favorite first
• I think I do that with dinner too
• I think I’m pretty artistic
• I love crafts
• I also like writing this blog
• I grew up Catholic but I don’t go to church regularly
• I have a black cat
• Today I ordered a Tuna Melt for lunch and got a Chicken Salad Melt by mistake

The Clam

Last night I spent my evening putting blond stripes in my daughter’s hair!
It came out really good, considering the fact that there are now blond stripes through my twelve-year olds hair!

Friday night she went to her first dance!
I spent about ? hour before she left trying to be a “cool” Mom. I told her how I remembered going to the school dance..... How I really remember going to the school dance.
This is where it all starts: boys, kissing, smoking, cussing (with heavier stuff right around the corner - but I'll think about that another day)
I, of course, didn’t go into too much detail about my recollections (or lack thereof) of school dance’s. I wanted her to know that this was the beginning of her “teen” social life and that I would be here if she wanted to be open with me without fear of getting in trouble. She could tell me or ask anything – Been there – Done that, Samantha!

Her ride arrived and she rushed out the door, but not before spending about an hour showering and another on her hair and newly allowed eye-liner. Oh and she smelled like… (who are those people that hang out on corners?)

When she came home of course I grilled her…
“Was it fun?”
“Any cute boys?”
“Did you dance with anyone?”
I wanted to ask more, but kept my questions at bay (for the time being).

She proceeded to tell me she would be going every Friday night from now on… and then she turned into a clam and kept her little mouth shut.

I wonder what that means?

Once you do.... there's no turning back!

I can't get back my entries from last week - but it was only a weeks worth - so I'll consider that a practice session.

Posted below are the photo's... which I do still have access to.... For memories sake - here they are:
